A self-directed project, Gharbzadegi is a Persian term translated as 'West-struck-ness', 'Westoxification', and 'Euromania’. The term was first coined to critique the youth culture of the ‘60s and ‘70s, whose ‘radical’ attitudes and ideas frightened older generations, laying the groundwork for the 1979 Revolution. WEST STRUCK is imagined to be an exhibition that displays archives from an era that shaped a country we see (and don’t see) today.
